I started designing jewelry a few years ago when my daughter was given a box of vintage beads. We made earrings from them and after several people asked where we had purchased them, I decided to start selling them. I was working towards a degree in Psychology at the time, and making something tangible with my daughter was a very therapeutic form of art. From there I went into making other pieces and have steadily grown my studio into a very functional space.

I have taken silversmithing and jewelry making courses at Munson Williams School of Art, as well as private lessons from jewelers whose work and skills I admire. Most of what I make is the result of what I have learned on my own in my studio, usually the result of trial and error. My designs are influenced by what I see in my garden and in the wider world of nature around us. In terms of techniques and skills, I try to emulate the craftspeople and artists of the American Arts & Crafts era of the early 1900's. Their philosophy of hand making organic forms into one of a kind jewelry appeals to me on many levels. The return to handmade, quality pieces that speaks of the individual that created them as well as to the person who wears it is what I am striving for.

I work primarily in genuine .925 Sterling Silver, although I do occasionally work in copper or brass. The gemstones I use are genuine and of good quality. Working with silver has allowed me to make a wide range of pieces that are affordable. I enjoy making pieces of my own design, but I am also interested in working with people to help them make their own ideas into wearable art. I believe that what you adorn yourself with should bring you pleasure and express something about you.
